    3M Clear Bra

I am planning on having the 3M Clear Bra installed. The dealer does it for 1399.00 USD. Seems expensive, but sounds awesome- It is made from 300 individual strips of material that are overlaid and molded for the exact shape of the car, covering the entire front and and side-view mirrors. Resistant to yellowing and damage. Anyone get one? Does this cost seem appropriate? I did not think it would be that expensive.

**Whoops- this thread should have gone in "Accessories". Can an administrator move it?**

Mine is at the shop as we speak. I got them down to $1200 for everything but the headlights.

The shop I worked at did them. I had him put one on my last car and I constantly wished I didn't do it. Any bird poop and water stains the material and eventually it gets a not clear haze to it. Then when you have it taken off you can see the difference in the paint. I hate rock chips, but I'd rather have them than what I had after the clear bra.

Was it the 3M type? Years ago I had a car with one that developed a haze, but I had bought the car with it in place (used), and I assumed that it was not a high quality bra.

Yes, I'm getting better quotes from private places... Good suggestion.

I think I am going to skip the bra afterall: The Evoque is going to be white, and I think the edges will be too obvious. Also, Chips would be obvious on a dark colored car, but one of the reasons I am getting white is the less obvious appearance of the chips on a white car. I guess there's risk either way-

Got mine last night. Looks great. Done by a certified 3m specialist. My hood already had 3 dings on it that I never noticed. The bra makes sense to protect the remainder.

A Clear Bra is a great investment. You should get the full front done for around $1200. I would not recommend 3M ecspecially on a white vehicle(to much orange peel) I have venture shield on my black cayenne and it looks amazing(wish i had the entire car wrapped) As long as you take care of the bra as you would normal paint they will last a good 10 yrs and the best thing about them is that it makes cleaning, ecspecially bugs a piece of cake.
