The first 2 reviews… what poor journalism! I used to believe Autoweek had credible writers but this proves otherwise. Such biased misinformed reviews. The third writer made one mistake when comparing the entry level model prices of several competitors. $41,000 is the price of an Evoque base Pure model. I believe the best ever review was Dan Neil’s Wall St. Journal review of the 5 door 2012 Evoque. He has a second mention of this review after reflecting back several months later on what he first wrote and after driving the 3 door coupe, saying the coupe was a tighter, more responsive experience. I also feel this is true having driven both 5 and 3 door models. When my Evoque coupe was in for dealer servicing I was given a 2014 Ford Edge Titanium with 5000 miles for a loaner. The Ford Edge has the same spec 2.0 240hp Ecoboost motor but felt sluggish compared to the Evoque. Maybe Land Rover requests a higher standard of precision during assembly on the motors they purchase from the Ford assembly plant in Spain?

I guess one either gets it or they don't.

All of those reviews were fine. The writers revealed their biases, and that's fine with me. I know folks here realize that this is a vehicle that you either get or don't. I am enjoying my Evoque quite a bit, and get it up into the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, to climb or backcountry ski, at least once a week. So, there appears to be style AND substance to the Evoque; and I think that is a good thing. My only criticism would be that I could not get a manual transmission, on it, in the US.

First two think size matters. 3rd guy gets it. I'm kinda glad its too expensive for some poseurs to own frankly. My Evoque says I've graduated from german toys like BMW X3's
