    Fuel Cap

So this may seem like a simple thing but thought I'd post it up anyway. Is there a way for the fuel cap to rest on the fuel door when filling the car with gas? I hate resting the fuel cap on the body of the car when filling up with gas. There is a notch on the door but the line that keeps the fuel cap attached to the car isn't long enough for it to rest on it. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something simple.

    Thanks

On my 2012 the lip of the cap fits on the curved plastic extension on the door. The thread part of the cap is pointing down.

See. I knew I was missing something simple! I thought that notch was for the line keeping the cap attached to the car. Never thought of resting the cap there. Will have to try it when I fill up tonight. This is why I love forums like this! Thanks for the pic. I appreciate it.

Works like a charm! Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it. No more worry about damaging the paint.
