Not sure I ever heard of such nonsense! The wheels are removed from the vehicle, put on a tire mounting machine, and the old tires removed and new ones installed. As long as the tire size, speed rating, load rating etc., is correct, how could that possibly mess up the suspension? If I were to have an independent tire shop mount the tires, I surely wouldn't use whomever told you this BS.

There should not be an issue with getting tires installed at almost any professional shop.

While I agree the pep boys answer, as given, is BS, it is possible they were trying to say they didn't trust their lift to not damage your Evoque.

Thanks I too have never heard of such a response but this is my first Range Rover and first tire replacement ... I was shocked really at his answer since if the price was right I would have used them. He says a friend's Range Rover suspension was damaged this way...

If you are worried, or think they were talking about proper location for lifting your Evoque, have a look at my post below. It shows pictures from the factory service manual, for the proper location for placing it on a lift.

Thanks so much. Now I remember that post! I got a decent price for 4 continental cross contact that are originally on the car for $850. I have gotten 62000 miles from the factory tires which I think is decent. You all are so helpful

Only time I had my tires "intalled by dealer", they took my car to "Tire Man" anyway.

I buy my tires on tirerack for a $149 a tire and that’s OEM size 20s and I have discount put them on for $40. I would never take it back to the dealer for this again. I also did this on my $100k+ 2002 NSX back in 2005. My 09 M3 and 15 M4 all cars significantly more expensive than my black pack dynamic evoque.
