iPhone SatNav solution for weak signal

There are a few threads relating to trouble with dash mounted sat-nav units (including iPhones) caused by the sun-reflecting film on the windshield and/or the heating element in the windshield. Being a fan of Waze and Google maps, this was a problem for me.

The solution I have found is to use a Garmin GLO Bluetooth GPS ($115 USD) sensor. I have mounted it in the rear of the vehicle on the LH speaker shelf. It is plugged in to the rear accessory power plug. Once paired with your iPhone, it provides a good GPS signal. I have been running it for a week now, and so far so good. I do have the panoramic roof which might be helping.

    Hope this helps.
