Service required message but not always
new here with a 2012 Evoque. Currently has 40ish thousand km.
We went to the dealer for first maintenance when Service Required message started showing up around 28k km so the message should not show up anymore. But the problem is it doesn't always show up? I tried looking around the display info and never found how many km left until the next maintenance.
Now, the message still shows up once in a while when starting the car. Should service required always show up when maintenance is due? I'm very confused with the maintenance schedule

Check your battery -- if you're in the UK you will probably have to take a cricket bat with you to get them to run a load test -- but a fading battery often throws off random error messages. Mine was changed first week of delivery.
But the battery is running strong. Starts very well in sub zero temps.
Funny thing is the service req message never stayed on steady. Event way past 24k km. we did first maintenance at around 28k or something.
I have to bring it it for a recall.. Will ask for a batt load test.
Battery can still be working at the edge. A load test is the best way to find out.
