Changing Rear Brake Pads
My Land Rover dealer told me that the only way to change the rear brakes on the Evoque is electroncially. They use their computer to back out the rear piston. Has anyone ever heard of this being the only option? If so, do you know if there is an electronic tool that can be purchased to do this instead of paying dealer prices for a brake job?
The emergency parking brake procedure does not back out the piston far enough to replace the pads.

I would question that. Do not know of a caliper with an electric motor or servo attached which is what would be needed if this job was computer controlled. Cannot see any such device on mine.
You shouldn't have to stop just because the pavement does! 2012 Range Rover Evoque Pure Plus Coupe, 2009 Land Rover LR2 HSE traded, 2008 Land Rover LR2 SE traded.
