I didn't see a year model or the number of miles on your Rover. There are many sensors in the fuel system. High pressure & low pressure sensors on the high pressure side as well as the low pressure side. There's also low pressure & high pressure fuel pumps. Is it under warrant? The dealership should diagnose this problem. See what they say. Before they start replacing part have them check a hose that feeds the fuel rail. After they replaced all parts I just mentioned & then more parts, the hose is what finally corrected my issue.

Is the check engine light staying on, intermittently when it acts up or are you clearing the code with your scanner? As long as it's still in warranty you should get it to service. If it's anything like mine, one day it isn't going to restart.

@rovingvic....with all the parts replaced in your car, was it just the hose to the injectors which was defective all along?

my CEL is intermittent, i havent cleared them. I am still waiting for a mechanic to fly in coz I dont have a LR Dealer where I live

I believe the hose feeding the fuel rail was the cause. The service dept. was diligent in their efforts & replaced practically every sensor, regulator, pump etc. in the system some parts replaced more than once. The JLR dealership consulted with JLR North America. Service thinks it was a combination of problems. The hose that feeds the fuel rail was leaking like a soaker hose (service's description) although I never smelled fuel.

The amber check engine is the thread with a pretty detailed description of the issues & attempts to cure the problem. I hope this helps. Let us know what happens with yours.
