    2012 Evoque 40MPH Transmission Rattle

I live in a small town and when I come off of 50 MPH to 40 MPH the tranny clatters ( like trying to start off in 4th gear in a standard) I took it to the local Dealership and they said it was normal.. Has anyone heard of that? It sounds horrible and it's embarrassing! They said just give it a bit more gas to make it shift. If I do that then I am OVER 40 MPH and the town I am in, I will get a ticket ( SMALL TOWN)...

Sounds like the dealer is full of @#$!&*. Have you tried manually forcing a down shift using the left steering wheel shift paddle? That will put you in the paddle shift mode, but should return to full automatic in ten seconds or so, if you don't touch either paddle in that time. Not what you should have to do, but may be a work around until you can get the problem properly sorted. This method will at least prevent you from having to speed, to get a downshift.

I don't like the paddles.. I have not tried that.. They said they test drove 3 other Evoques and they all did the same thing. Accord to the dealer, they said LAND ROVER said it was normal and it was just in between gears and just to give it some gas and it will stop.. SO you are calling BS on this, eh???

The OP's post says he has a MY12 Evoque. The 9 speed ZF was fitted starting with the MY14 Evoque.

There have been several updates to the transmission software . Have you checked on the LR TOPIx website to make sure you don't have any outstanding campaigns?
