    Transmission Fault on Dash

Twice I have started my 2012 Evoque and I get a warning: Transmission fault. Place in Park before starting. I have never started my Evoque out of Park. I turn it off and back on, the message disappears. Any ideas why this is happening? I have 64,000 miles.

It's probably an electrical gremlin. Without getting a diagnostic code hard to say, but the fact it goes away. You'll probably be okay. I forgot what I did a few years ago but if you hit a button and turn the heat full blast and turn it off really quick it'll cause transmission fault

I vaguely remember this occurring to me when i left the car unused for 4 weeks and I believe the battery may have had a low charge. try taking for good 1 hour drive and see if it still happens.

It is due to the second battery which is either faulty or Low voltage.
I got the same problem and the warning keeps coming out.
    Battery changed and problem solved

Thanks, what is a second battery? What does it control? Do I need the dealer to replace it?
