Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Convertible Officially Unveiled
It seems Range Rover has gone the way of the Murano.... It's convertible. I guess this was something we never knew we needed, but now we have it.
It takes 18 seconds to fold the roof down and 21 seconds to raise, while you're travelling at 30 mph.
Here's what Bharath Autos had to say about the New Range Rover Evoque Convertible:
Land Rover has unveiled the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible, Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Public debut is scheduled for the 2015 Los Angeles Motor Show this-month.
Design-wise, the Evoque Convertible is based on the facelifted 2016 Range Rover Evoque that debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Featuring optional LED head-lamps with the new DRL design, revised bumpers and all-new LED tail-lamps. The convertible gets an exclusive moulded rear spoiler. The interior design too has been carried forward from the standard car.
Under the hood, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is powered by the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engines that range between 180 PS or 150 PS, and the 2.0-litre Si4 petrol engine. It is paired to a ZF 9-speed automatic gearbox, and will be equipped with an AWD system with Terrain Response. The most fuel efficient variant delivers a mileage of 19.6 kmpl.
Range Rover Evoque Convertible will enter production at Land Rover’s Halewood facility in the UK alongside the 5-door and coupé body styles. The model goes on-sale from mid-2016 in more than 170 markets worldwide. India is most likely to be one of them.
According to Jalopnik, "Pricing starts at $50,475 when it goes on sale next year."
