Cool optional sizes / more selection

I just replaced the stock Continental tires 235/55/19 on my 2012 coupe. While on Discount Tire's site I clicked on the optional or plus sizes and noticed several more options. I ended up trying the Yokahama YK580 which is getting good reviews and Discount claims is their best seller. I immediately noticed a quieter ride! I bumped up to a 255/50/19, which is slightly wider with virtually the same aspect ratio with a difference of 1.75 cm. The extra width looks a little beefier and should help protect the rims that much more. The tread design looks sharp. I haven't had an opportunity to snap a photo in the daylight yet.

As you can see, not much difference.

That looks great. What is your impression of the tires now at 3 months? I alway had Yoko's on my discovery and am now looking at the first replacement set on my evoque.

Still happy with this tire selection! Handle well dry and wet. I'm comfortable recommending this tire to everyone.

Just an update sense someone recently asked about replacement tires. With about 26,000 miles, the Yokohama YK580s are holding up great. The tires still have a lot of tread and wearing very evenly.

Today Discount Tire shows the Yokohama YK580 at $195.00 each.

I am a huge fan of Yokohama tires. I took have purchased tires from Discount Tire..I wondered if you replaced them yourself or had them installed? How often are you rotating? I'm not yet due for my 10,000 mainenance from dealer...but I would like to get my tires rotated before then. Discount Tires has always rotated tires on my vehicles, even when the tires are not yet ready to be replaced. They know I will be going back in a few years to purchase replacements. I'm afraid to have anybody drive my Evoque...for fear that they won't know that it goes into echo mode and leave the car on. Thoughts?

I took my to the Discount closest to home. They drive it from the parking spot in their lot to the bay. I stand nearby and watch them do the work and they usually just let me back it out of the service bay. I generally have them rotate and balance every 5,000 to 6,000 miles.
