Switch from 19" to 20"... implications?

    Hi all,

I'm contemplating switching from my stock 19" style 3 wheels to 20" wheels on my Dynamic. I'm at a point where I need to buy new tires and was thinking about going to 20" wheels while i'm at it.

What will this do to my evoque? Am I compromising anything? Do I need to change anything for the 20" wheels to fit?

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

thank you for this. Another question on the same topic. What about staying with 19"s but going with a wider tire? How does that change things?

No problems with a 255/50/19, which I've had for the last 14k miles.

check out this tire calculator. Input the tire sizes you want to compare and then hit calculate! You get speedometer variances, gear ratio / RPM for the new tire, with an overlay and side by side views.

thank you! I'm about to buy new tires and i'm thinking of getting wider tires. I don't want to however have to buy new wheels as well. Is that a stupid question or do I have to buy new wheels as well?

You don't have to change the wheel to go to a little wider tire. There's a lot of information in the wheel & tires section of this site.
