Evoque ran flawlessly while we travelled from Canada to the warmth of Florida

Here is the car at waters edge, the house we have is built on stilts over the water and the view is very relaxing.

Car Looks GREAT! What did you use to tint the headlights and tail-lights? Film covers or spray? I definitely wanna do that to my Evoque too I wanna kinda black it all out. Mine is Black with White contrast roof, I got the 19" Silver Sparkle Dynamic wheels but may pick up a set of 20" RRS Gloss Black Stormer wheels or the 20" Black RRS Supercharged SE wheels, can't make my mind up yet, but got time. Hopefully they start putting out some aftermarket accessories for this ride soon.

Paul, since you already have yours, can you comment on a question I have:
- Once the car is running, how far away can the keys go from the car and keep the car running? For example, can you start the car outside, and run inside with the key to let it warm up? If you go too far, does it shut off?

Thanks!
The car doesn't shut off. It snowed here where I live a couple days ago, I got the heated windshield and all that stuff and I hopped in it turned it on, put the heat on and the heated windshield and defrosters and went straight back in my house with the keys in my pocket and the car never shut off, I was at least a good 50 feet away minimum. So I doubt you'll have any issues if you get one. Only thing I wish it had was remote start, possibly something I may add later but who knows. Definitely pull the trigger and get one, well worth it for sure.

LaminX the only way to go...it is a heavy sheet material that is heated and molded to the lens, has a bit of adhesive to hold it in place while it is applied with hot steam.. cost about $250 to do front, rear, rear refelctive lenses, and third brake light. once done, the corners should have a tiny spit of superglue to keep the cut portions from cracking in winter....best to get a pro to do it unless you have experience...very expensive material.

And before you say it...I did not wimp out at the ramp

.....the concrete ramp was broken off with a 4 foot drop directly behind my rear wheels... coulda been a real situation......otherwise i would have given her a good dip in the H2O and take some better pics.....it truly was where the "road ends here"

Great post,
thanks fo the beautiful pictures.

Please advise what was the mileage during your trip and what was your average speed? as I believe I am having some sort of a problem with my indications. I never really measured any other way, I will start when I go to FL on the 17FEB form NYC.
Take care and have a safe trip.

I am driving with my 7 yrs old and wife to Cape Coral, FL (The Gulf), also to MIAMI, but this is only a week vacation, send me a PM if you are going to be around there on the week of 17-24 FEB, maybe we can meet.
I lived in Toronto and Montreal for a few years, used to work in collaboration with your Army.
Take care,
Enjoy your trip.

I drove 75 mph most of the way to Florida on the highways and got 23 mpg (USA).... slightly better than what i got last year with the Subie WRX (22).

I am sure if I drove at 65 mph it would have been much better fuel economy.

I would love to meet but you are going several hours south of me. We are on the Homosassa river (where the manatees spend their winters) in the natural area where mostly Florida people have their cottages.... its about an hour north of Clearwater.....lots of wildlfe and nature preserves here....quiet and relaxing.

If you drive down or up the Gulf coast on your travels let me know and I will intercept you near Crystal River or Homosassa.

My city home in Canada is an hour north of Toronto and my solar powered cabin home is about 3 hours northeast of Toronto, among the lakes and woods.
