Aftermarket radio

I have a 2017 Evoque, and I love it, but I despise the radio. No apple car play, and the interaction with my iPhone, whether through Bluetooth or USB port is spotty at best. Has anyone had any success changing your radio to an aftermarket radio? Any advice appreciated!

Sorry a little late on answering this. I just bought a used 2017 SE Premium. Yet it appears the original buyer didnt spring for an upgraded sound system. I have an 8 speaker system, that just sounds ok. Took it to a reputable custom car audio retailer/installer, and they did not advise in trying to replace the radio, since it is really only providing the source. Plus changing it could screw other integrated systems up. They provided recommendations for a new Amp, DSP, and subwoofer, that would make the things sound 1000% better. I just need to decide if I want to spend the $$.
As an update...

Had the sound system upgraded. Kept the crappy head unit and radio...

But replaced all the speakers with JL C2-650s,.
Added a JL Fix82 DSP
Added a JL XD700/5v2 Amp (5 channel, 700W)
Added a JL CP108LgW3V3 Sub - which sits in the luggage area.

They basically installed the Amp and Fix82 under the Driver and passenger seats, since there was a huge void there, due to the absence of the Meridian Amp and subwoofer I assume.

Overall, sounds 1000% better. But pricy.

As others have noted, Bluetooth was spotty when connecting my Google Pixel, but seem to work ok after installing 'Bluetooth Phonebook'

Anyway, hope this is helpful to others.
