So engine light same on. Car driving normally. Took to dealer. Cost $580!!! I'm out of warranty. Said it would not pass emissions ( which I don't have in my county). 57,000 miles anyone ever heard of this? Tia

Never heard of it??? No warranty so no need for the stealer. Have a local garage verify or have a friend with a code reader confirm the diagnosis.

DMTL Stands for Diagnostic Module Tank-Leakage. It is part of the emissions system. I don't think that Land Rover uses this term for their pump, I believe Land Rover calls it an "A.I.R. Pump". My understanding is... it pressurizes the full tank, to make sure there are no leaks, so no fuel vapor gets into the environment. There is plenty of chatter on BMW forums about their DMTL pumps needing replacing on BMWs.

Now is it the $400 pump or the $18 seal? Unless you plan on keeping it long term, if you don't have emissions...... btw aren't emissions related components under a much longer warranty on all vehicles?? Most emissions stuff is 7-10 years on vehicles these days.
I see 4yr/50,000 miles
or 8yr/80000 miles for emissions components.
Unless its an early 2012, you should still be in warranty and dealer is D$$king you for 57000 miles. Suggest the lack of purchasing another RR will cost company much more.... I don't see an AIR on either list from my brief research so it cannot be asterricks unless they consider it part of the EECS. I'd pressure the dealer to show you the FINE PRINT on this one.

They called it dmtl pump. Since I informed them that I don't have emissions, they said no rush or need to replace. My car is 2013 but I bought it in nov 2012 so yes out of warranty,. Didn't know about emissions for 7-10 years! It ended up being more like $350 with a coupon they gave me but stil no need to replace if I don't have to..

For $350, if they can be specific, it will come back to you in spades at trade in or sale. Buyers don't like check engine lights.

Agreed. I don't plan on trading anytime soon. As side note I got a loaner 2016 evoque to drive because they were backed up with cars for 3 days.Wasn't a fan of the transmission and car cutting off with each stop. I see now why others aren't a fan either. My 2013 is so smooth. I do plan on getting the pump it's just nice I don't have to be in a hurry. Also got to get 4 new tires as well.

Enjoy and knowledge is your friend. Ask them specifically if this is a 4/50 or 8/80 component. You might catch them off guard. Good luck. I just leave it in sport dynamic and takeover when it goes stupid on me as I LOVE everything else about the vehicle.
