Evoque Engine Cooling Fan won't shut off

I have a 2012 Range Rover Evoque Pure.
Battery died yesterday, from what I see now it may have been due to the Engine cooling fan continuously running.

Any ideas on why the fan won't turn off?
-I left it sitting for 30 min (vehicle shut off) still not off (Vehicle left on for 30) still not off, detached battery left off 9 hours (overnight) plug battery in and first thing to continue running is the Engine Cooling Fan and it still was running.

Why would the fan continue running? I have no check engine lights on temperature doesn't increase, no other issues happening besides the fan staying on and running down my battery.

Help would be appreciated before I spend $100's at Range Rover for them to tell me it was a 10 dollar fan sensor.

Thanks

Yes should definitely be recalled but here we are. Thankfully it is very ez to replace but very hard to get to. You must get a small Philips and it helps to remove the engine cover to be able to fit your arm around the left side for some leverage. Specially when it come to disconnecting the bottom 2 cables. Otherwise could be a lot worse job to deal with.
Thanks everyone! I had to spend hours on youtube to find nothing then I see a lot of 1 post ppl here, I knew this was my problem too. CRAZY how it just came on it's own on a random day. Glad I went to check what the hell that sound in my driveway was. IF you dont have the part yet, you can just unplug the top cable, very VERY carefully, while parked and reconnect to keep driving till you get it.
I got mine on ebay for 36$ and it works just as good. Here is the link. It says Volvo but if you look through the listing, it includes our baby range rovers.
CHEERZ on saving a ton of bux!

More than likely it’s the fan control module and it’s an easy fix it’s just loosen two screws and plug new on in I baught mine off Amazon for like $40 (to find out because I kept letting the car run without unhooking the battery I killed the whole fan circuit as well lol which I then ordered the fan off eBay for about 120 bucks and had it installed

You probably know that they have an electric driven fan, I think, and it has a sensor for shutting on/off. I heard that some guys found the plug in sensor, on the fan housing, to go bad now and again. So I would look for black box near or on fan housing, see if you can unplug it, buy a new one, and plug it in. If not replaced, obviously the fan will wear itself out from running unchecked over long time period.
