Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept Can be Driven by Remote Control

The Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept has made an early appearance before its official unveil at the New York Auto Show, and it packs all sorts of futuristic tech.
Style wise, the concept adopts many of the features that are already present on the Range Rover Sport and Evoque.
But where this concept gets really interesting is in its list of features. Here is a quick rundown of those futuristic technologies:
- Remote control drive: This allows the Vision Concept to be piloted from outside the vehicle, while it is travelling at very low speeds. It is ideal for hitching up a trailer or being your own spotter on a tricky off-road course.
- Wade Aid: A system that will measure the depth of a water crossing before the vehicle attempts it.
- Smartphone-style gestures: Fitted in the Concept are many OLED touchscreens, which control everything from the rear seats configuration to the infotainment system.
- Laser referencing: A setup that uses lasers to offer more precise parking sensors.
- See-through hood: A set of cameras in the front bumper project the scene below to a head-up display on the windshield, effectively allowing the driver to see through to the hood to the ground immediately in front of the wheels.
Land Rover says that this is a new entry in the “Leisure SUV Category,” and it can seat up to seven passengers.
