Just dropped off my Evoque for the dealer to look at a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel.

They also told me that since the car is in, there is a software update available and they will update my car. What they said is that the software update includes some fixes (not very specific) and also a start/stop feature.

I was surprised that LandRover is giving this feature to existing owners, I wonder if that is even in the new 2013 models. I'm not sure if I'm happy to get it or not even though it is suppose to help improve the mpg of the vehicle. I have read reviews of other vehicles with this start/stop feature and its been a hit and miss on how the vehicle operates when starting off from a stop. Will just have to see how it works.

We have a 2013 (manuf date of Nov 30 2012) no Stop start functionality, please keep us updated on your click issue and the new software. Thanks for sharing.

Well its two fixes in one but the start stop portion of it wont do anything to your car, it doesn't add new features. It only affects the manual diesel versions of the car not sold in the US. But with that there is also a fix for an alarm issue. Overall you probably wont notice any difference after the update.

Got the car back and did notice any difference in operation after the software update.

As for the steering click, it seems to be fixed. They re-torqued the balljoints per LR new specs.
