Hi all
ive had my diesel evoque since October and a few weeks ago the message "service required" come up on the dash
the thing is it's only done 4500km and first service should be at 10000km
i live on st Maarten and the dealer in Guadeloupe, and not being very helpful
Any one have any ideas?
Dean, From reading posts on the UK Evoque forum, where most members have diesel engines, this is common. Some posts said that JLR was aware of the problem with the car calling for an early service. Take a look at the UK forum post below.
I think that the issue is the oil gets contaminated with fuel. The diesel Evoques need AdBlue fluid to clean the Diesel Particulate Filter. The cleaning only happens at speed on a longish drive. Short trips are not good for the new diesels. If the dealer isn't helpful, I guess if it were me, I would pay for an oil change. Cheap insurance, to protect you expensive vehicle. Just my thoughts for what they are worth.
Below is a link to the UK Evoque forum. JLR have now recognized that there is a problem with oil dilution in their new diesel engines. This seems to be the reason the for the early "service required" warnings.
