Driving my 2013 Evoque Prestige today with 23k miles on it, the yellow warning sign on the middle of the dash lit up with "Transmission Fault - Traction Required"
Killed the engine, restarted and then after driving the car some more, it came back on.
Definitely not stuck in low gear like in "safe mode," but felt like I was driving 2wd vs 4wd.
I find it hard to believe it's a bad transmission..., maybe bad sensor or some electronic glitch?
Hmmm since it started back up I guess not the battery. It had lots of faults on it when battery died. Only 23k miles on 2013. Don't drive it much. Is it still under warranty?
Yes, still under warranty.
Dealer Service Advisor said I could still drive it since it's not in fail safe.
I'll know this week, what's up. It'll likely be stuck at the dealer for a week or more.
In San Diego there is only 1 authorized dealer centrally located (Land Rover San Diego).
They sell way more cars than they can service, and that's after they expanded their service department. It takes their service advisors 1-2 days just for a return call!
Lousy customer service...very frustrating and unprofessional.
They need more competition that's for sure.
LR San Diego is where I take my Evo. Not always the best experience. If you need extra support, contact Shannon Bain. She replied to me in response to a less-than-stellar review I gave them last time I was in there. Seemed to want to help.
Got my car back and here was the cause:
"Insufficient spring load. Replaced active on demand coupling includes oil pump, misc parts, and installing rear differential control module - includes configuration of new ECU." (whew! covered under warranty)
1i have the exact thing now-----what was the cost to fix yours?
