a lot of stuff needs to be taken apart now and you also need some special tools. its quite the job. idk your experience but i wouldn’t recommend this job if you’re not experienced. i’m more than willing to answer any questions you have if you decide to tackle the job yourself.
Hi I have the whole engine locked at TDC with the special tools and now I want to install new cam actuator sprockets and timing chain. The only question I have is what is the correct clock position for the actuator sprockets..

Welcome to the forum! Sorry that you joined due to a major issue:mad:.

If you want to PM me your e-mail address, I can send you an exploded view of the cylinder head from the factory service manual. This shows both of the cam shaft position sensors, exhaust and intake, as well as both of the variable valve timing solenoid valves. Could be that it is one of these solenoid valves that is causing your problem. Of course, this is just a guess on my part. Seeing all of the parts involved, my help you better understand what the shops are telling you about the work involved.

Hello, I’m new to the forum, I recently read the 2018 post regarding advice / service manual diagrams for VVT Solenoid replacement.
If possible, could you send me info on replacing the VVT Solenoids and/or any information you may have.
I’m getting P0016 and P0017 codes, so I’m hoping this will fix it, but again, I’m open to any advice.
Thank you in advance!
