OK, I have a 2013 Dynamic w/o satellite radio nor parking assist, nor rear entertianment. Think I have everything else. I have no issues with windshield glare (I do have the "cold weather" option); my rear camera comes on in a second after shifting into reverse; my tranny does not hesitate (some have suggested in D it starts off in 2nd gear -- I always drive in S but on the 2013 I do not have this issue even in D); I have zero issues with my NAV (mine has a split screen); my cell phone connects w/o issue and run my iPod through usb not BT and no issues; haven't tried dry cleaning challenge and do not use EZpass. What don't I like? No overhead sun glass holder.
Agree with this 100%. After multiple Evoque test drives and trying find the colors and options I wanted, I discovered that the 2013 LR2 was redone this year and now has the 2L turbo charged engine, Xenon headlights with LED signature lights. The HSE version has the Meridian audio system, NAV and Bluetooth phone. All the issues in the 2012 Evoque have been resolved in 2013 models. I purchased the 2013 LR2 for 10 grand less than the Evoque Dynamic similarly equipped, minus a few speakers and watts. Interest on loan was 2.9% as opposed to the Evoque 0.9%, but much better vision and storage space. Got the colors I wanted and more storage space with only slightly less fuel efficiency. Other than no sunglass holder, much better car for me at a smoking price. No regrets.

LIMP MODE!!!!
I was driving in the Rain for about 2 Hrs i was at an intersection completely stoped. Light Turned Green I steped on the Gas and the Truck Went into LIMP MODE!!! I could not get it to go past 25mph I was very worried as I was out of town did not knw where the closest dealer was and it was memorial day wknd. I've read on this forum about this issue and was hoping it would never happen to me. I have less that 5000 miles on my truck. I am not impressed and feel like I cannot trust my Evoque. I will be taking the Evoque in for Service but the Service Dept said they have never heard about this and would prob not be able to replicate the issue. So now I ask myself WTF? What do I do? I love the Evoque but feel Like i cant Trust It.

This is a known design flaw. Unfortunately a major safety issue and incredibly dangerous (just imagine if you this happened as you were passing on a one lane road or if you were turning left at a light with oncoming traffic...at least noone's died yet from this, not to my knowledge). My advice to you would be to get rid of your Evoque ASAP. They have a 'software patch' and a 'hardware screen patch' which supposedly is a "WORKAROUND" to stop this from happening, but nevertheless the design flaw is still there. I would not risk the safety of my children in this vehicle. The problem is across the entire fleet of Evoques. You can follow the exact details of the problems and "supposed fix" in this thread: http://www.evoqueforums.net/forum/e...e-maintenance/496-my-engine-problem-will-become-technical-service-bulletin.html The only official letter I've seen from LR is here: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs...51512-3725.pdf Another site forum talking about this here (again, this is a widespread problem): http://babyrr.com/forum/thread-4955.html

To sum up the problem the design flaw is with condensation build up in the inter-cooler that when the Turbocharger kicks on it blasts a shot of air through here that blows the condensation off onto something that shorts out and causes the cylinders to misfire and trips the car into LIMP mode. Their software patch makes the car run on 3 cylinders when this happens instead of disabling the entire engine. The hardware patch is a screen install somewhere in there to try and stop the water causing the short. It's totally crap. I wouldn't trust it. It's a workaround as opposed to a real fix for the condensation build up.

A majority of people having this problem got rid of their Evoques due to this design flaw. I would recommend you do the same unless you are "ok" with their workarounds. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Perhaps you can speak to a lawyer about this to advise you on your options before speaking to LR.

So far after driving my 2013 5 door for a week, My only complaints are that I have this amazing sound system and DVD player in the dash but I can't watch a movie without the engine running!?!? The thing shuts off and interrupts whatever you are listening to or watching after 10 minutes if only the ignition is on. Seriously there's got to be a way around that. Also, the nav voice commands are a little clunky. I'm a very tech saavy individual. By the way, It's been raining a LOT here in Maryland since I got this and I've been driving it at highway speed in the rain and done some pretty good acceleration and not seen any issues at all as far as 'LIMP MODE' or anything like that- but again I've only had the keys to this for a week.

This post is full of such misinformation and bad logic that I hardly know where to begin. As a LR owner I'm ticked off to read such drivel on an Evoque enthusiast board.

"They have a 'software patch' and a 'hardware screen patch' which supposedly is a "WORKAROUND" to stop this from happening, but nevertheless the design flaw is still there." -- This is absurd. The hardware FIX is a FIX, not a "patch" or a "workaround". The screen FIXES the problem. As for the design flaw being "still there", if you have a hole in your floor, and I add some wood that fixes the hole, is the "design flaw still there"? Yeah, there used to be a hole and now there's not. Just because you can remember when there was a hole doesn't mean the problem continues.

"The problem is across the entire fleet of Evoques." It is a problem with the Ford EcoBoost engine, and is a problem across every car running every model/size of EcoBoost engine. Fords, Jaguars, LandRovers, Volvos. ( Ford EcoBoost engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaFord EcoBoost engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

"You can follow the exact details of the problems and "supposed fix" in this thread..." -- We have now had multiple owners indicate that they've had the service and none have had a recurrence. No, we can't PROVE it's fixed. On the other hand none of us have had the problem recur. Again, if I repair a hole in your floor, and you walk back/forth across it 900 times, I can't prove to you that the floor is fixed. But it certainly seems to be. I suppose it is possible that you could fall through it again the 901st time you walk across....

"Their software patch makes the car run on 3 cylinders when this happens instead of disabling the entire engine." -- Not just wrong, but LOUD wrong. The patch increases the power to the car during limp mode. And, even more importantly, the best advice is to pull over and shut the car off and restart it. The car generally performs normally after that. Are you sure you've been paying attention?

"A majority of people having this problem got rid of their Evoques due to this design flaw." OK. Wrong, Loud Wrong, and Idiotic. What are you basing this "majority" on? Did you take a poll? I'm pretty sure you must be a dealer selling a different brand. Are you selling those super-ugly GLKs? Good luck with that.

Basically your entire post is trash, and I think you've made the internet collectively dumber by having posted it.

malharden- thanks for the accurate, and f---ing entertaining post. I love a good morning laugh :) . Bummer that people [yobigd20] post unsubstantiated opinions on this forum and pass it off as fact. What a d-bag.

Why I hate Evoque? I don't hate evoque but I hate the careless people who make a living out of that car. 1). I had rear blower issue (turn when temperature is 20° or more) and made things worsers and the cabin is lot noisier and diesel fumes comes in. 2) Blower still doesn't work JLR says there is no fault and it is standard. Then why did you replace it? 3) Speedo meter shows 240kmh when drive at 80kmh. Thanks to navigator unless I have to pay lots of speed fines. I have continues "low coolant flow alarm" I didn't ask from the JLR might say it is a feature in the standard car and live with that. Utterly useless and I want to get rid this piece of .... Those are the first three reasons why I hate.

Wow, make sure to test Drive this at night!!! Beware of climate comfort option! Comes with strange heated windshield screen..The glare from from all outside lights through windshield is obnoxious. It is so annoying that I'm trying to return my vehicle to the dealer. They are offering to replace the Windshield with a clear standard version. What a pain! How was This not reviewed in any of the automobile magazines? I am shocked with the high ratings given the major flaw.
I just bought a 2013 RRE with the climate comfort option and did notice the heating array in the glass both during the day and at night, however the glare is very minor easy to ignore if you focus on the road and not on the windscreen itself. I got used to with within a week or so. If you live in a cold climate like I do, having a heated windscreen is a great option as it will rapidly melt ice and snow more so than a standard defogger. Returning a car over such a minor detail is pretty fickle IMO.

The things I don't like about the car:
1. Lack of a MPH digital speedo, especially when in cruise control.
2. Sat/nav should be more streamlined, it takes too many steps to enter a POI or address.
3. Lack of song title/artist on the home screen when in sat radio or on the digital display next to the speedo/tacho---cheap cars car do this; you have to dive down two menus to get at it.

Small things I appreciate:
1. Ability pair multiple phones with the bluetooth system and have two different phones paired at the same time (one for phone, one for music)
2. Parking sensors come on automatically when I pull into my garage.
3. Car will automatically switch to P and activate the parking brake even if you turn off the car in D or S.
4. Card clip under the visor.

Mostly love my Evoque .
My complaints:
(1) The infra red shielded windshield coating makes my Valentine one radar detector inoperable – even when placed in the clear zone it operates poorly.
(2) The cheap, easy to break, poorly working seat back releases that fold the front seats forward on my coupe.
(3) No digital MPH display in the dash.
(4) No digital compass display on this car that has off road capabilities.
(5) The visibility issue of the front corners and blocked visibility due to the mirrors.
(6) No locking gas cap or locking
fuel door (U.S. spec.)

I can't adjust the radio volume (or turn it off) when the parking sensors are engaged and the review camera is on. Or maybe it's just that there is a long delay. I've learned to turn the volume down before parking.

2013 Evoque Pure Premium.

There are more squeaks and creaks than I would have expected. I have eliminated the ones caused by the front seat head rests with some felt tape, as well as a few others, but I am still tracking down a couple in the doors, in particular the front passenger door and overhead trim. Frustrating.

I cant believe I forgot about this one, it is by far the worst: The worst thing about the Evoque is that to fit my golf clubs in the back without putting down the rear seats, I have to take my driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and 3 hybrid out of my golf bag first. The driver barely fits when it is not in the bag. I could easily fit at least 3 sets of clubs in the trunk of my 2011 Camaro.

I really like our Evoque, but there are a few points that seem like silly oversights/omissions with the vehicle.

My primary complaints are...

- Can't seem to get the seat set properly. On my loaded out Dynamic, they skimped on the seats by not including the 8-way adjust WTH!?
- No adjustable pedals- VERY surprising from a vehicle at this price point that is touted as a luxury vehicle.
- No remote start- Really?? How friggin complicated is that!? I can get it on a $14k Kia but not a $60k RR!?
- Ridiculously cheap OEM factory floormats. Ordered aftermarket MAXpider mats the day we took delivery.

Have a real problem with the paddle shifters and where they are. Chronically my left knee taps the paddle and damn!!! I'm in D1. Then, to shift back to D, is not particularly ergonomic. Does anyone use S drive and use the paddles?? May sound stupid on my part, but can someone explain that to me...Thanks!!!

You can go from S to D and back at any time turning the selector knob. D is the more economical (overdrive) mode in a six stages (gears, speeds whatever you call it. S is the performance mode and less economical as at any road speed you are turning more RPMs in S. The car is more responsive to throttle inputs is S and accelerates to a higher RPM before shifting into the next higher gear in S and also more quickly downshifts to the next lower gear when decelerating, keeping more horsepower available at anytime. The paddle shifters are engaged by flipping the up (+) paddle each time for 1-2-3-4-5-6 or the down (–) 6-5-4-3-2-1 paddle lever. (1 is a very low ratio and is intended for off road.) In my opinion this is the most fun way to drive the Evoque but not for the times when you don't have the attention to give to this manual shifting method. To go out of the manual flipper mode upshift or downshift with the paddle shifter and hold it an extra second or two to end of the shift paddle travel and the car will automatically go back to the automatic mode.
